You have sustainability goals you are proud of. Increase your ambitions even further by including the reduction of scope 3 emissions.

It’s time to start reducing your scope 3 emissions

The reduction of scope 1 (owned direct) and scope 2 emissions (owned indirect) is, at least partially, commonplace for most companies. It has moved from an competitive advantage to a license to play. Bigger companies are looking at Supply Chain Sustainability and have started to invest seriously in the reduction of scope 3 emissions (not owned). It’s time to act now and start reducing your scope 3 emissions before it becomes a prerequisite, due to consumer and retail pressure, and you have to struggle to implement measures under pressure. If you are not familiar with the different scopes check out this short explanation.

For a typical food company about 90-95% of the total emissions are scope 3
Roughly 70% is caused by purchased goods (ingredients, packaging, etc.)

reduction of supply chain waste,
novel energy saving processing routes.

But there are many other ways…

Of course, there are many other ways to reduce scope 3 emissions (local sourcing, offsetting emissions, regenerative agriculture) but these are not where our strength lies. If you need help here, we will gladly refer you to experts in these fields!
